32 meritorious students feted in Kalaigaon

MANGALDAI, June 13:  Kendukalai- a premier socio-cultural organization of Kalaigaon in Udalguri district, organized a felicitation function in a rural high school of Kalaigaon area recently.

At the function organized at Pacchim Silpota High School, a total of 32 meritorious students were offered felicitation in presence of a number of teachers, guardians and distinguished guests. Bristi Rani Choudhury of village Tengabari, who secured the fourth position in the State and first position in the district in the Primary Scholarship Examition was also offered felicitation.

Taking part in the felicitation function presided over by leading citizen Danpati Baishya, Executive Member of BTC for Transport, Soil Conservation Jagadish Sarkar, Additiol Secretary of Cooperation Department, Madan Chandra Deka, who is the only person from Kalaigaon area to be nomited for IAS, retired Bank Officer and reputed poet Sanjoy Kumar Tanti and adviser of Kendukalai, Hiren Kumar Saharia gave away the citation letter along with Bihuwan and a xarai to the meritorious students.

Speaking at the function, Executive Member of BTC, Jagadish Sarkar appealed to the teachers and guardians to come forward for creation of a suitable atmosphere for academic studies in the area and assured the BTC administration would extend all possible help and cooperation in this regard. Additiol Secretary Madan Chandra Deka and poet Sanjoy Kumar Tanti in their speech recalled their student life as they used to attend their classes after working in the field daily from 5 am to 9 am. They also appealed to the students to concentrate in their academic classes only so that they could shine in any field.  Secretary of Kendukalai, Dandi Kumar Boro earlier explained the objective of the function and spoke about the activities of the organization since 1980.
