All Assam Students’ Union Protests Against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

DEMOW: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Demow Regional Committee burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP State president Ranjit Dass in Demow Chariali at NH-37 Road on Monday in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and the Nalbari incident which took place on Sunday.

Activists of AASU Demow Regional Committee shouted various slogans against the BJP government and also burnt tyres at NH-37 road in Demow Chariali and blocked the road. A chaotic situation took place during the protest and Indica Gogoi, Circle Officer (A) of Demow Revenue Circle, and Demow Police reached the protest site and brought the situation under control.
