MORIGAON: In a well-attended function, Morigaon Deputy Commissioner Rituraj Bora on Thursday presented the Anundoram Borooah Award to 455 students who secured rank in the HSLC and High Madrassa exams for the year 2018. The district administration distributed 455 laptops and a citation to each student in a meeting held at the Morigaon Sankar-Madhab High School. Speaking on the occasion, the DC asked students to follow the path of Anundoram Borooah who was the first Assamese to join the Indian Civil Service. The meeting was conducted by Minal Deka, assistant teacher, and also attended by ADC Lakhinandan Soharia, Annada Devi, Headmistress of SM High School, and ADC Arup Pathak.
GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat district administration on Thursday distributed laptops under the Anundoram Borooah Award, 2018-19 amongst first division holders in the HSLC and High Madrassa exam last year. In this regard, a ceremonial function was held at the District Library auditorium hall. A total of 300 students received laptops on Thursday out of 736 students and remaining laptops will be given on Friday. In the ceremonial function, District Development Commissioner Forid Ahmed presided over the meeting where MLA of Khumtai LAC, Mrinal Saikia, educationist Dr. Khagen Phukan, noted citizen Prakhyat Duarah, Inspector of Schools, Golaghat, Dr. Samiran Bora and ADC Arpah Baglary were present.
