Arunachal Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, DGP of Police SBK Singh Transferred

Itanagar: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Central Government has transferred Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal and Director General of Police SBK Singh from the State with immediate effect. Senior IAS officer Naresh Kumar has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the State replacing Gopal, an order issued by Under Secretary to Government of India Rakesh Kumar Singh stated on Tuesday.

Currently posted as Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) under the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, Kumar is an IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre of 1987 batch. Gopal, also an IAS officer of AGMUT cadre of 1988 batch has been at NCT of Delhi. He was posted as the chief secretary of the state on October 2017.

In another order, State DGP SBK Singh has been posted as the police chief of Mizoram. Singh is an IPS officer under AGMUT cadre of 1988 batch. IPS officer (AGMUT cadre) of 1991 batch Rajender Pal Upadhyaya would hold charge of Arunachal Pradesh DGP with immediate effect, the order stated. Upadhyaya was currently posted as Special Commissioner (Law & Order, South) of Delhi police.
