Guwahati: With an aim to come down heavily on the BJP government's 'Rs 60,150 crore' Rafale fighter jet deal and rising fuel prices in the nation, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee members and supporters will launch a massive protest in front of the Raj Bhawan on October 6.

APCC leaders and members will take these matters to streets and will start their march from Latasil playground to Raj Bhawan in Uzan Bazaar area tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Ripun Bora on Friday during a press briefing had slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government alleging that the ruling party is deceiving the public by cutting down the fuel prices by just Rs 5.

He also questioned that when BJP earlier couldn’t reduce the fuel prices over the night, then now they have come to reduce it to Rs 5 as of now. “The main reason behind the reduction is the upcoming elections in 2019,” said MP and APCC President, Ripun Borah.

It may also be mentioned that the Congress party on Thursday had urged the CAG to carry out a forensic audit of the "Rs 60,150 crore" Rafale fighter jet deal and bring all "facts" on record to enable Parliament to fix accountability for the alleged scam in the contract.

A delegation of Congress leaders met the Comptroller and Auditor General of India Rajiv Mehrishi.

This has been the second visit by the Congress party in a month and presented a memorandum to Auditor General along with the fresh documents.
