Assam Press Correspondent Union Stages Protest Seeking Justice for Kamala Saikia

Namrup: The Assam Press Correspondent Union (APCU) Dibrugarh district, in collaboration with Naharkatia subdivision committee, and people of Naharkatia staged protest in Naharkatia near Rail Gate on Thursday. APCU district committee president Abdul Rajak Ali said, “Even after 27 years, the family of martyr journalist Kamala Saikia has not got justice. We urge Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to re-open the cases of the 32 martyr journalists case so that the culprits could be punished.” APCU district committee general secretary Smrity Rekha Kalita said, “We urge that the case files of the brutal murder of Kamala Saikia should be re-opened and cases of all the 32 journalists who gave up their lives for the motherland should also be re-opened.”
