LAKHIMPUR: An awareness campaign on Swachh Bharat Mission under the auspices of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, was held at the Indira Gandhi High School on Saturday.

On this occasion, an awareness rally, with the participation of the students, was taken out in the area in addition to organizing a drawing competition among them. Literary activist Mintu Sarmah inaugurated the plantation drive. The awareness meeting was chaired by headmaster Lakhi Borah while Field Publicity Officer of Outreach and Communication, Upper Assam, MoIB, Pranab Kumar Nath addressed the gathering regarding the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Subject teacher of ADK HS School, Sanjib Borah delivered speech as appointed speaker. Social activist-cum-former president of Telahi Kamalaboria Xakha Xahitya Xabha, Nila Chutia and youth activist Guna Kanta Koch, student Phatik Borah and teacher Pranab Bujarbaruah spoke on the occasion. Some of the students presented cultural items in the event in which prizes were distributed among the winners.
