Bank Linkage Programme held at Sivasagar

GAURISAGAR, Jan 24: tiol Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (BARD) organized a day-long SHG-Bank Linkage Programme for government officials in Sivasagar on Thursday.

The programme was iugurated by Shah waz Chowdhury, Project Director, DRDA, Sivasagar. In his speech he urged government officials to dedicate their services for the betterment of the society. He even said SHGs had been playing a key role in development of the State and asked bank officials to provide support to the SHGs for their sustaible development. Addressing the meeting as a resource person, Muni Madhab Baruah, former consultant, Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) said that to achieve fincial magement was essential. He also highlighted fincial inclusion like credit flow and interest subvention.

Former Consultant of ASRLM Baruah also spoke about universal social mobilization and universal fincial inclusion. In the meeting Lead District Mager , Sivasagar,  Moneketan  K Sethy, David Turkey, Block Programme  Mager, NRLM, zira, Efren Lakra, Block Programme Mager, Demow , Promud Buragohain,  Project Assistant, Extension Centre, SIRD, Joysagar,  Arun Kumar  Hazarika, Senior Branch  Mager, AGVB, Sivasagar  Branch were present.  Earlier Lakheswar Mahanta, District Development Mager, BARD explained the objectives and welcomed the resource persons and government officials. A total of 31 government officials took part in the programme.
