Barak Valley Sports Journalists Association to Promote Snooker in Silchar

SILCHAR: Cue sports, especially snooker is played in elite cities all over the world. In Silchar, people getting interested in this sport. There are three cue clubs in the town.

Itkhola cue club is one of those. They organized a knockout tournament which also gained popularity. There were 32 participants in the mini board competition. 32 more participants were in the competition of king size board category. Sumit Sutradhar, who already represented Assam, won the king size board competition.

Sumit Sutradhar defeated Sukanta Suklabaidya. Rajdeep Paul won the mini size competition defeating Bishal Roy. Meanwhile, Barak Valley Sports Journalists Association (BUKSS) will help to promote the cue sports in Silchar. Its president Riten Bhattacharjee and general secretary Taz Uddin were present in the prize distribution ceremony. They suggested the organizers and cue lovers to form a snooker association here. It will help to increase the popularity of the game in Silchar as well as in Barak Valley.
