Bhogdoi Water Treatment Plant inaugurated in Jorhat

JORHAT: The Bhogdoi Water Treatment Plant and water supply to the National Institute of Design at a cost of Rs 2 crore was inaugurated by Hitendra Nath Goswami, Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly and MLA of Jorhat in presence of Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, the newly-elected Rajya Sabha MP at Goromur Pujadubi.

The Rs 2-crore water treatment plant has been supported by the Assam Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board (AUWS&SB). The inauguration function was presided over by Dr. Numal Momin, chairman of AUWS&SB, Assam. He assured that employees of AUWS&SB would be getting regular salary from the next two months.

Local MLA and Assembly Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami appealed to all officials of the respective departments to cooperate in implementing all projects. Dr Niren Baishya, vice-chairman of ASWS&SB, Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Roshni Aparanji Korati and Jorhat Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Nimbalkar were also present in the function.
