Dhubri, Aug 26: State Revenue Minister Dr Bhumidhar Barman today visited the flood-hit areas in Dhubri district to take stock of the situation. Minister Barman met the officials of the subdivision to discuss and discussed about repairing of tiol Highway 31 which has been damaged by floods. In Beltoli of the district a part of a bridge was washed away by flood water. Minister instructed the officials to take steps for early repair of the bridge.It may be mentioned that the affected people taking shelter in the relief camps have now slowly started to move their homes. In Bilashipara 292 villages, 270068 people and 90210 bighas of land have been affected by the floods. 65 relief camps were set up in the subdivision. On the other hand , a team of the Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress also visited the flood affected areas in Dhubri district on Tuesday. The team members distributed drinking water bottles and food packets among the flood affected people.
