Bodoland Territorial Council distributes financial incentives to the rank holder students of the last examinations

Kokrajhar: The Education department of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) ceremonially distributed cash award/incentive to the rank holder students of the last HSLC/AHM and Higher Secondary examinations and selected candidates for UPSC coaching, PhD scholars, and students admitted to IIT, MBBS, IIM, NIT from BTC at a function held at Nilkamal Brahma Auditorium of Kokrajhar Science College on Friday.

BTC Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyary attended the function as chief guest and handed over the cheques to the students. Rank holder students of the last HSLC and Higher Secondary examinations were handed over a cheques of Rs 2 lakhs each. It is to be mentioned that two students of St. John Higher Secondary School, Barama in Baksa district Palguni Sarma and Evan Kashyap Kalita secured 5th and 8th position in the HSLC examination this year while Namrata Nath of Bongaigaon Refinery HS school in Chirang district secured 6th position in the Higher secondary examination this year.

15 selected candidates for UPSC coaching were given Rs 3 lakhs each, while 15 students admitted to IIT, 17 students admitted to Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and 45 students admitted to MBBS were given Rs 2 lakhs financial incentive while 31 students admitted to National Institute of Technology (NIT) and 107 nos of Ph.D. scholars will also be given financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh each to carry on with their studies. BTC Executive Member Doneswar Goyary, BTC additional Principal Secretary Robinson Mushahary, Guwahati University College Development Council (CDC) Director Biswajit Sarma, and Director of Education, BTC Rabishankar Borgoyary were among those present in the function.
