Brown sugar seized, one arrested by DSP Namrup Kula Pradip Bhattacharjee and Naharkatia Police

Naharkatia: A police team headed by DSP Namrup Kula Pradip Bhattacharjee and OC Naharkatia Police Station, Bhaskar Jyoti Saikia, acting on tip-off conducted a raid and arrested one drug peddler and recovered 19.61 gm of brown sugar from his possession on Saturday night. The police also seized a TVS Victor motorcycle and an electronic weighing machine. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Bitupan Saikia alias Panka Saikia, son of Achyut Saikia of 2 No. Balijaan Gaon, Naharkatia. A case has been registered a case (no.123/19 u/s 21 (b) under NDPS act. According to police, the seized brown sugar was sent to Forensic State Laboratory Kahilipara in Guwahati for the test. The arrested persons have been sent to Jail custody in Dibrugarh.
