Guwahati: Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) of Guwahati Frontier apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with 11 cattle heads on 27th June 2019, from bordering areas of Mahamayachar, District South Salmara, Mankachar (Assam).
Acting on a tip off, today at about 03.30 am, a Patrolling party of BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Mahamayachar apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with with11 cattle heads from bordering area International Boundary, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh.
Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Haten Ali (22Yrs), S/o –Amir Ali, R/o Vill & PO-Pocherchar, PS & District- South Salmara, Mankachar (Assam). He has been handed over to PS-SouthSalmara (Assam) for further legal action.
BSF troops apprehended the miscreants due to their alertness towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes from the border.
Similarly, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri District, Police had rescued 31 bovines and arrested three bovine smugglers from three locations in the district. The police have also seized two vehicles.
On Thursday evening, a police party from the Thanamandi police station intercepted a mini truck, driven by Zakir Hussain, at a checkpoint. During frisking, the driver could not produce the required permission from the District Magistrate for carrying the bovines and was arrested on the spot.
The police also seized the mini truck, rescued eight bovines and booked the driver under relevant sections.
In another case, a police party from the Dharamshal police station rescued 15 bovines from the clutches of Mohammad Shabir. Shabir was on his way to Kashmir on foot via the Mughal Road along with 15 bovines when he was intercepted and arrested. He was also booked under relevant sections of law.
