Guwahati: The Border Security Force (BSF) conducted two special operations in the Area of responsibility of Guwahati Frontier and apprehended two Indian cattle smugglers along with 09 cattle heads on June 30, 2019, from bordering areas ofBalabhut and Madhyabalabhut, DistrictCoochbehar (WB).
In one incident, acting on a tip-off, on 30th June 2019 at about 1100hrs, BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Balabhut launched a special operation in general area of village Madhyachar near International Boundary. Alerted troops apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler alongwith05 cattle heads from the bordering area of International Boundary, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Sonaulla Ali(25Yrs), S/o –Kadam Ali, R/of Village –Bansichar, PO-Posachar, PS- Fakirganj, District-Dhubri (Assam). He has been handed over to PS-Tufanganj (WB)for further legal action.
In another incident, acting on a tip-off, on 30th June 2019 at about 0530 hrs, BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Madhya Balabhutapprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with 04 cattle heads from bordering area of International Boundary, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Johirul Ali (26Yrs), S/o –Mksood Ali, Resident of Village –Kukradanga, PO-South Salmara, PS- Hatsingimari, District- South Salmara, Mankachar (Assam). He has been handed over toPS- Tufanganj (WB) for further legal action.
BSF troops apprehended the smugglers as they were alert towards their duty and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes from the border.
