BSF Apprehended Two Indian Cattle Smugglers along with six Cattle heads from Indo-Bangla Border

Guwahati: In two different operations, troops of Border Security Force (BSF) of Guwahati Frontier apprehended two Indian cattle smugglers along with 06 cattle heads on intervening night of 30th /31 st May 2019, from bordering areas of Jhalachar and Chowkichar District South Salmara Mankachar (Assam).

In the first incident, acting on a tip-off, on 30th May 2019 at about 2205 hrs, a special ambush of BSF troops apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with one cattle head from the area of responsibility of Border Out Post of Jhalachar, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Saju Mia,(21 Yrs), S/o Abdul Hamid, R/o Panatipara, Jhalachar, PO- Jhaudanga, PS Mankachar, Dist-South Salmara Mankachar (Assam). He has been handed over to PS Mankachar for further legal action.

Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, BSF troops apprehended another one Indian cattle smuggler along with 05 cattle from the area of responsibility of Border Out Post of Chowkichar, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Mazibor Rahman, (22 Yrs), S/o Bisha Ali, R/o VPO Motakhawa, PS & Dist South Salmara (Assam). He has been handed over to PS Sukhchar for further legal action.

BSF troops apprehended the miscreants due to their alertness towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes from the border.
