New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her maiden presentation of the budget, says that the budget presented on Friday is "one of hope" and "it is a budget that will boost India's development in the 21st Century".
As soon as the budget session ends in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said, "This budget is one that will make the nation prosperous and empower the people, it will give strength to the poor and a better tomorrow to the young people."
This was the first budget of the Modi government’s second term at the centre that also appeared to be the first step of the government to realise the Prime Minister's goal of doubling the economy to 5 trillion dollars within the next five years.
After the presentation of the Union Budget 2019, praises showered on the FM by the Prime Minister. For him, the budget appeared to be quite citizen friendly and future friendly. Further, he congratulated the first woman Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on her feat.

Further, the budget indicates the government taking tough measures in several sectors. Some of the measures taken in the budget like the increased duty on petrol, taxes on the super-rich, proposal for increasing Foreign Direct Investment in sensitive areas like the media, aviation, insurance and single brand retail are impressive that has been particularly preferred by the PM.
Modi also added that with the implementation of the budget, the enterprises will strengthen; women of the nation will be encouraged for more active participation in enterprises, the tax system will be simplified and the infrastructure too will be modernized.
The Prime Minister said that the Union Government has taken all round steps for the empowerment of poor, farmers, scheduled castes, oppressed and the underprivileged sections of the society. He said that this empowerment would make them the powerhouse of the country in the coming five years. The country will get the energy to fulfil the dream of a five trillion dollar economy from these empowered sections.
