Donkamukam, March 24: Cow theft has been on the rise in the area under Donkamukam Police Outpost since the beginning of this year, giving sleepless nights to the villagers. On Saturday morning, five cows were stolen from Manoj Sangma of North Rongkhang No.2 village under Donkamukam Police Outpost. The value of the five cows is about Rs 1.70 lakh. Manoj used to plough his field with the help of the cows. Police have begun investigation and suspect an intertiol gang of cow thieves and smugglers, which smuggle stolen cattle to Bangladesh, to be involved in this theft.
