Dibrugarh: “The meritorious students of Assam can bring a change in their life, society and country only when they put in hard work accompanied by devotion, determination and discipline,” said Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while taking part in the 2019 Subha Baruah Saikkhik Prativa Award (Subha Baruah Academic Excellence Award) event, held under the aegis of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council (SKAC), on Monday at Dibrugarh University.
He added that every student of Assam had the ability, skill and determination; they just needed to dedicate themselves to their goals with hard work, fortitude and activeness. Participating in the award-giving event which recognized and awarded the candidates who had secured first division in the 2019 HSLC and AHSEC examinations, and who were either from the Sonowal Kachari community or living in the regions that came under the of SKAC, Sonowal handed over the award, a certificate and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the 5th rank holder in the Arts stream in the 2019 AHSEC exam- Shruti Sonowal.
Another 998 students, who secured first division in the two exams, were rewarded. Asserting that nothing could stand between them and success if the students studied for 10 hours daily, Sonowal held that the State’s standing would improve globally only when it produced better human asset.
