CM Sarbananda Sonowal Attends Release of Ram Naik’s Assamese Autobiography

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, “Charaiveti Charaiveti that depicts Ram Naik’s life and philosophy will galvanize the spirit of nationalism and strengthen relations amongst people living in different parts of the country by giving a chance to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Charaiveti Charaivetian autobiography of UP Governor Ram Naik at the Srimanta Sankardeva International Convention Centre of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra here on Saturday, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the book would serve as a manual for all those who aspire to serve people, society and the country. Terming the day as memorable, Sonowal said that the occasion synchronized with the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee who contributed immensely to the unity and integrity of the country would go a long way in forging friendship among the people living in both Assam and Maharashtra. He also paid rich tributes to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Chief Minister Sonowal also said that the book Charaiveti Charaivetiwhich got translated in 11 languages would facilitate exchange of ideas, cultures, customs and traditions of the different parts of the nation and give rise to a feeling of strong nationalism, the nationalism which is the core of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

The Assamese version of the autobiography was released by Governor of Assam Prof Jagdish Mukhi in the presence of Governor of Meghalaya Tathagoata Roy, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brigadier BD Mishra, Governor of Sikkim Ganga Prasad, Governor of UP Ram Naik, who is the also the writer of the book, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Industries and Commerce Chandra Mohan Patowary, Minister of Environment and Forest Parimal Sulkabaidya, Minister of State for Culture Naba Kumar Doley, Dr. Mahendra Singh, Minister of Uttar Pradesh, State BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass besides several other dignitaries.

“Ram Naik maintained utmost transparency during his long public life. His commitment to work and principle of value-based politics is a real inspiration for us. His capability, resilience and fountain of will for social service have given a renewed boost to human and societal values in our country. His life is worth emulating for the socio, economic and political empowerment of the country”, the Chief Minister said.

Appreciating the fact that the veteran leader’s autobiography has already been translated to 11 Indian and foreign languages, Chief Minister Sonowal said “Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and Lata Mangeswakar established a deep bond between the Brahmaputra and Godavari River through their immortal musical creations. In similar vein, the translated version of the autobiography of Shri Ram Naik would further strengthen relations between the people of Assam and Maharasthra”.

Speaking on the occasion Governor of Assam Prof Jagdish Mukhi hailed the role of Ram Naik in planting the seeds of value based politics in the state. He also stated that the veteran leader’s role in promoting the interests and cause of marginalised sections of the society is unparallel. He also congratulated Ram Naik on translating the autobiography Charaiveti Charaiveti in Assamese and hoped that the endeavour would strengthen the bond friendship and camaraderie between the people of Assam and Maharashtra.
