Sevilla, July 11: Colombian striker Luis Muriel on Tuesday signed to play the next five football seasons with Sevilla, with figures that make him the most expensive signing in the history of the Spanish club.
Muriel has already trained under Argentine coach Eduardo Berizzo, before his presentation on Tuesday morning.
Muriel successfully passed the medical tests before initialling his commitment to Sevilla, which will pay 20 million euros ($22.7 million) for the player's transfer from Italian club Sampdoria.
A 50 million euro (almost $57 million) unilateral termition clause was also imposed in the contract.
The Colombian intertiol striker is the third reinforcement to Berizzo's squad in the summer transfer window, after Argentinians Ever Banega and Guido Pizarro.
Both Muriel and Pizarro trained in the sports city of Seville, first in the gym and then on grass with a specific task -- to reach the level of the rest of the group. IANS
