MANGALDAI: In a significant development in the initiative to transform the State into a resourceful one with the whole-hearted involvement of youths in agri-horti and avian farming and to make them self-sufficient, as many 70 enthusiastic persons on Tuesday assembled at the ‘Shaan Agro Orchard’ at Block Chowk near Mangaldai to take part in the day-long workshop and awareness camp on organic agriculture and avian farming.
Director of Shaan Agro Orchard and promising avian entrepreneur, Kushal Deka, who took up avian farming after leaving his company job, organized the workshop on his own. Extending a positive response, participants from places like Lakhimpur, Narayanpur, Dhekiajuli, Guwahati, Dudhnoi, and Barpeta took part in the workshop, besides participants from Darrang and Udalguri district. They expressed their deep interest in avian farming.
Significantly, a sexagenarian retired teacher and a promising film director were also among the participants. Dr. Yugabrata Nath, Veterinary Officer of Rangamati Veterinary Hospital, while taking part in the workshop, explained in details about avian farming and replied to the queries raised by the participants. Sharing his experience in the field, Dr Nath appealed to all the participants to create an atmosphere of work culture in the society only to make the State more resourceful. He also elaborated the technical information in a very simple manner. Media person and secretary of Mangaldai Media Circle, Mayukh Goswami, who has been continuing their initiative in creating awareness and to encourage the youths on agri-horti and avian farming, also addressed the inaugural function and closely interacted with the participants.
Earlier, media person Bhargab Kumar Das inaugurated the workshop by lighting an earthen lamp in a traditional way and presided over the function. Director of Shaan Agro Orchard, Kushal Deka in his welcome speech shared his experience in avian farming, especially in Japanese Quail. Taking part in the workshop, promising film director of Guwahati, Priyam Nirmal, woman agri-entrepreneur of Paneri, Arpana Medhi, Abhijit Goswami of Lakhimpur and Parash Jyoti Gogoi of Narayanpur, Gautam Das of Bhabanipur in Barpeta and Srikanta Rabha of Dudhnoi in Goalpara also shared their opinion and thanked the organizers for organizing the workshop.
