Death of social worker Sirajul Haque mourned in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI, April 9:  Eminent social worker, Mouzadar of Shyamabari mouza in Dhula, general secretary of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Sadou Mangaldai Rongali Bihu Sanmilan and a prominent businessman of Mangaldai, Sirajul Haque (55) passed away after being in a state of coma for more than a month at a private medical institute in Guwahati.

Haque, the brother of Swahid Mozammil Hoque (who attained martyrdom at the tender age of 12 years during the All Assam Students’ Union-led medium movement in 1972), was shifted to the private medical institute in a very critical stage as he suffered a massive stroke and was battling for his life. He was also the vice-president of Darrang District Committee of Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) and was actively associated with various social activities.  

His death has been widely been mourned. Minister of Fisheries and Water Resource Basanta Das, secretary of Mangaldai Chambers of Commerce, Mukul Chandra Deka, secretary of Youth Club, Rajib Kumar Deka (Mintu), Mangaldai Unyan Parishad and various organizations have condoled his death.
