Demand for fast-track trial of  retired army personnel murder case in Nonoi

NAGAON: The family of retired army personnel who was recently killed at Nonoi Chariali, as well as various organizations of the district and prominent personalities, have demanded that the trial of the gruesome incident should take place in a fast-track court. Local MLA and former Chief Minister PK Mahanta, Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain and the representatives of various organizations like AASU visited the residence of the victim. They assured the family to provide justice and also urged the authority concerned to have a fast-track trail so that the family gets justice.

On Friday evening, the people of greater Nonoi area paid tribute to the deceased army personnel Dipen Nath who was killed by two professional shooters from zero distance on October 22. The people of Nonoi Chariali lit hundred earthen lamps during the Raax Mahotsav at Nonoi Chariali Namghar. The people of the area appealed to the authority concerned to bring the entire process of trial to a fast-track court. Soon after the gruesome killing of Dipen Nath, Nagaon Police were able to apprehend three prime accused and also recover the arms and a motorcycle which were used by them in the murder.
