Dhekiajuli Shamed : Alleged Rape Victim Commits Suicide

DHEKIAJULI: Two motor-cycle borne youths at Balijan Kachari under Dhekiajuli Police Station tried to rape two minor girls on Sunday evening. One of the victims somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the youths and went home to inform her family members. According to police sources, the two minor girls of Balijan Kachari Gaon had gone to Bhangamandir Centre for shopping. While returning home, two youths, identified as Phani Thapa and Kishore Koirala, stopped the girls and tried to rape them.

One of the girls succeeded to escape from there but the other girl was allegedly raped. Later on Sunday night, she committed suicide by hanging herself in the toilet of her house. Singri Police sent the body for post-mortem. The parents of the victim are speech impaired. The people of the area on Monday gheraoed the Singri outpost to protest against the heinous crime and demanded that the accused to be arrested soon.
