Madrid: Atletico Madrid on Tuesday announced that Diego Costa did not take part in the training session after suffering a foot injury.
Costa, 30, is to follow a different training approach after sustaining his injury in Saturday’s 3-2 La Liga win over Athletic Bilbao, the match which marked Costa’s return after missing Leganes and Dortmund’s games due to a muscle injury. “Diego Costa has suffered a bruised foot,” the La Liga side said in an official statement on the team website, adding that: “The Atleti striker is to follow an alternative training programme, receive medical treatment and physiotherapy.”
The Los Rojiblancos currently have five injured players — the four defenders Diego Godin and Jose Maria Gimenez of Uruguay, Montenegrin Stefan Savic, and Frenchman Lucas Hernandez along with Costa. IANS
