DoNER Ministry urged to clear pending projects: Mein

 Itagar, March 15: The Aruchal Pradesh Government is constantly pursuing the DoNER Ministry to clear eight pending projects under Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) submitted by the State Government during 2017-18, Deputy Chief Minister Chow Mein informed the Assembly on Thursday.

Responding to a question raised in the House by senior BJP member Wanglin Lowangdong during question hour, Mein who also holds the Planning portfolio, informed that during the year the State Government proposed a total of 17 projects to the Ministry under NLCPR of which nine projects, including five road projects were sanctioned by the Ministry at a total cost of 163.87 crore.
The total cost of the eight retained projects was 271.80 crore, he said.
 “There was no written communication from the Ministry so far about rejection of any NLCPR projects,” Mein said while responding to another supplementary.
The Minister added that out of the eight retained NLCPR projects, seven pertain to roads and one against Wangcha Rajkumar College in Tirap district for which certain clarifications were sought by the Ministry.
            “We have directed the concerned departments to provide the details to the Ministry and accordingly the departments submitted the clarifications. Moreover, Prime Minister rendra Modi during his visit to the State on February 15 this year has assured to take up the matter with the Ministry,” Mein added.
