Drug smuggler nabbed with brown sugar by Nagaon Police

NAGAON: In a search operation on Friday evening, Nagaon Police led by newly-appointed Nagaon town Sub-Inspector Biraj Mohan Deka, apprehended a drug smuggler from Marangial area in Nagaon town and also recovered more than 20 gm brown sugar from his possession.

According to sources, the nabbed smuggler has been identified as Ashik Ahmed of Marangial.

The police later recovered cash Rs 1,000 along with 20 gm brown sugar from his possession. Ashik had been involved in smuggling of brown sugar and other drugs in the district over the years, the sources added further.
