Agartala: Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath called for retaining reach cultural heritage of the people and to revive which has already got extricated due to external influence. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Annual conference of the Biswa Banga Sahitya O Sanskrity Sammelan at Sukanta Academy auditorium on Tuesday.
He recalled the reach heritage of the Bengali language and expressed dismay over the recent trend of embarrassing the foreign culture and literature. 'It is a dangerous trend and at a time it will destroy our foundation', he alerted.
Appreciating the initiative of the Biswa Banga Sahitya O Sanskrity Sammelan to ignite a self respect among the youths of the new generations he said all the parents must be aware about it and teach their children to learn their mother tongue.
The minister assured full co-operation from his government to all linguistic group when they will take initiative for development of their language and heritage. He also warned against infiltration of bad culture in the name of modernization.
The founder of the Biswa Banga Sahitya O Sanskrity Sammelan Radha Kanta Sarkar elaborated the activities of the organization. The newly elected Tripura State president Paritosh Biswas who is also the editor of Daily Jagaran assured the assembly that his organization is committed to retain the cultural heritage of the Bengali language as well as other linguistic groups.
