Google has been adding a host of new features into the Google Maps and the latest of the addition include a feature which will let its users know the possible crowds in public transportation vehicles. As per sources, Google will now predict transit crowdedness of buses and trains which will help the passengers in choosing their mode of transportation much ahead and thus, avoid the transitional hassles and disturbances.

Google has even made its new feature already available in around 200 cities of the world. For predicting the passenger rushes in the buses and trains in the cities, the search engine has taken help of the details on past rides for months. In addition to collecting the crowd details in public transportation vehicles, Google has been its Google Map users for additional details about the level of the crowdedness of their transit trips.

Google Maps has been giving four options to its users to choose from after completing the ride and these include many empty seats, few empty seats, standing room only or cramped standing room only. As soon as the users give their feedbacks by choosing the suitable option, the data gets stored with Google and after collecting enough data on the bus and train crowds, the map provider has now started offering predictions on the probable crowds. Google Map users who regularly use the Maps to plan their daily commute will, thus, get helpful information from the web mapping service.

This is not the end and Google Maps is up with another feature wherein it will provide live traffic delays for buses. The places where commuters do not have real-time information from the local transit agencies on the running time of the buses will be particularly targeted for this feature so that users get benefitted from the app.

It is hoped that with the help of this new feature, users will be able to know whether their bus is running on time or delayed. The duration of the delay in the bus would also be known by the users.
