Tezpur, May 9: Green Hub, Tezpur will organize a three-day-long festival from May 11 at the Tezpur University KBR auditorium, christened as ‘Green Hub Festival’. The festival is organized every year in a bid to create an opinion towards wildlife, environment and bio-diversity. Green Hub Festival is an integral part of the larger Green Hub programme, which engages youth and the community for conservation action through the digital medium.
While addressing a press meet at office of the Green Hub, Tezpur here at Kumar Gaon, Monisha Behal, CEO of the frontline NGO North East Network, and Rita Banerjee, Project Director, Green Hub Project, in presence of Banti Saikia, administrative officer, and Imrana Khan, Festival Director, said that the festival would help to raise awareness, celebrate, debate and examine wildlife, environment, bio-diversity along with other critical developmental issues relevant to North-east region.
The three-day event will have film screenings on wildlife, environmental conservation and similar issues from acclaimed filmmakers, Green Hub fellows and participants. Art and filmmaking competitions for school students and music will be a part of the fest, which will provide a vibrant space for networking amongst various stakeholders and the youth of the region, and an opportunity to explore avenues for new initiatives.
Panel discussion and presentation will be held with experts to discuss and debate on critical challenges to environmental conservation and social development. Winner of the art and filmmaking contest will also be awarded in the fest.
