DIGBOI April 6: Following constant and prolong persuasion by the local unemployed youth of Hansara, Raidang and Samdang area under Digboi Legislative Assembly Constituency and District administration of Tinsukia in Upper Assam, the authority of Doomdooma based Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) filly responded adequately and conducted a series of written examition here at Shiksha-the Gurukul school recently. With this drive of the company, a 17-year deadlock between the authority and the local unemployed youth of the area seems to have resolved amicably.
In all 6000 candidates from Tinsukia district appeared in the examition conducted in the said centre for three days against 69 posts comprising 45 non technician and 24 technician posts. The result of the recruitment test would be declared by the end of May 2018. Expressing gratefulness towards the HUL authority and the district administration for responding to the long pending genuine cries of the youth, a youth leader said, “We are expecting that preference to local eligible youth would be given as assured earlier by Sumit Dhar, an official at the HRD of HUL in a meeting on eligibility criteria”.
Meanwhile, appreciating the gesture of the HUL magement, Digboi MLA Suren Phukan who had stressed on the issue several times, said, “The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in the green tea belt are of tremendous significance for the uplift of the people.”
