Hollywood Style Chase, Assam Police recovered Hijacked car in just 57 minutes !

Guwahati: In a filmy style chase, Assam Police on Thursday managed to recover a stolen car just within 57 minutes.

As per police report, two miscreants hired a car from Shillong today afternoon and assaulted the car driver when they reached Baihata, later they hijacked the car bearing registration number ML-05-Q-8634 and managed to escape from the spot.

The car owner identified as Sumit Bajoria later posted the matter on micro-blogging site Twitter and accordingly, the Assam Police social media team coordinated Officer in charge Baihata Police Station under Kamrup District and recovered the car in a Hollywood style chase, that too in just 57 minutes.

The owner in his tweet also suggested the twitter users saying, “For all those who think it is a waste to install a GPS device, in a car or bike, needs to take a look at this thread. A working GPS device which can be tracked in realtime, in the hands of a professional law enforcement agency like Assam Police can help you recover in record time.”

Meanwhile, DGP, Kuladhar Saikia tweeted, “Congratulations to social media team of Assam Police and personnel of Baihata Police Station of Kamrup Police for their daredevil act of rescuing the vehicle in record time. This strengthens once again our commitment to be with the people at the time of need.”
