BOMDILA, July 20: Parliamentary Secretary PHED cum MLA of 6th Thrizino Buragaon ST Assembly constituency Kumsi Sidisow graced the first ever Independence Cup Football tournament organized by All West Kameng District Students Union (AWKDSU) at Buddha Stadium, Bomdila on Friday.

Kumsi Sidisow in his address praised the AWKSU to be the strongest among the other District Students Union (DSU) and advised to continue union effort to bring change in education and social awareness among the students of the district.

“Under the dynamic leadership of CM Pema Khandu, government is focused in education, health, sports and water resources, he said.”

He asked the players to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship and discipline. Winning and losing is part of any game, and one should not be demoralized of losing, he added.

He also in the meantime asked the student union to feel free to approach for any kind of suggestion and help from him, which he promised to do so.

Vice president Protocol AAPSU Tayuk Sonam present as guest of honor in his short speech promised to support AWKSU and people of West Kameng district in any matter related to students welfare.

He also added that due to the approach by the AAPSU, today textbooks are available in every school of state. Further he said sports are itself an education, through sports we learn many things like discipline and respect which should be implemented in personal life too.

Around twelve teams are participating in the said tournament.

The opening match was played between Gorkha FC and Kalaktang FC, where Gorkha FC won by a solitary goal.

The tournament which started today will conclude with the final match on the eve of Independence Day.
