Jonbeel Mela begins at Morigaon

MORIGAON, Jan 18: Like every year, the historical Jonbeel Mela began from Thursday at Jonbeel Pather with the arrival of mamas and mamis from plains and hills areas. The Jonbeel Mela is known for the barter of goods. The exchange of goods will start tomorrow after the community fishing is done at Jonbeel. Thereafter, the king of Guva will open the darbar at Jonbeel Pather. The mela will conclude on Saturday.
