Mastermind of ATM thefts arrested

Golaghat, February 1: Golaghat police arrested the mastermind behind ATM thefts in the entire State. As per the report of Additiol SP Numal Mahto, “The thief med Rahul Pegu alias Vishnu Das of Milan gar, Majuli was arrested from the region between Bokakhat and Numaligarh after receiving information from special sources. This culprit has successfully stolen cash from ATMs of Kamrup, lbari, Boko, Bokakhat, mrup, Rangia and Bangalore. Recently it is assumed that in Golaghat district too, attempts were made by his team in the ATM of Telgrum Rungajan Pulibar. From reliable sources we came to know that he was travelling through Golaghat district and our team made all arrangements to trap him. He was also arrested for ATM theft in Boko, Kamrup, mrup and in Bangalore.” Mahto added the culprit had admitted of having properties worth crores, including vehicles. A case under Golaghat PS number 325/15, U/S 380/4/27 has been registered .
