Guwahati: With Eligibility norms being relaxed to a large extent, three major Indian oil companies including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have invited applications for appointment of Regular/Rural Retail Outlet dealerships across various districts in Nagaland

The three oil companies together have proposed to appoint a total of 106 dealerships in the state out of which 50 locations are proposed by IOC, 41 by BPCL and 15 by HPCL.

Addressing a press meet at Hotel Lake Shilloi, Dimapur on Sunday, N. Kashung, State Level Coordinator, Nagaland, IOC informed that the central ministry has relaxed the norms for applying for fuel dealership to a “huge extent” by removing financial capabilities and extending the age criteria from 21-55 years to 21-60 years.

He said any Indian citizen can apply for dealership in any of the proposed locations provided the applicant has a land at the proposed site. Applicants without land can also apply; however, they are expected to offer land when called for.

It may be mentioned that for the first time, computerized “Draw of Lots/Bid opening” would be held under the aegis of an independent agency to bring in more transparency. All Retail outlets will be constructed with the latest technology including automation.

Kashung, however, informed that all applications would be accepted online through www.petrolpumpdealerchayan.in with last date of receiving applications set for December 24, 2018. The website is already live to accept applications and all other necessary guidelines can be found on the website.

Officials of the HPCL and BPCL who were also present at the press meet expressed the hope that the proposition to open new fuel outlets would meet the growing needs of the citizens for fuel in the state. They also hoped that the entrepreneurs would take hold of the opportunity.

State Level Coordinator, IOC, Nagaland, N. Kashung, informed that 5kg LPG cylinders would soon be available at fuel outlets without requiring any documentation except for one identity proof. While stating that the LPG supply situation was improving in the state, he said that a bio-toilet would be inaugurated on December 1 at IOC outlet, Nagarjan, Dimapur.
