Itanagar, July 16: With Potin-Pangin and Joram-Koloriang stretches of Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) remaining held up over two different issues, the Nyishi Elite Society (NES), the apex organization of the Nyishi community, has exhorted the state government to sort out the hurdles, if any, and start construction of the much-awaited highway.

While Joram-Koloriang stretch of TAH has entangled into a legal battle following alleged gross irregularities in assessment and disbursement of compensation against the ambitious project, the Potin-Pangin section of TAH is awaiting Centre's nod after the concessionaire gave foreclosure notice to the union ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

The NES, in its executive meeting held here, exhorted the government to sort out the hurdles, if any, and resume construction of both stretches of TAH - Potin-Pangin and Joram-Koloriang immediately on a war footing which is the lifeline of the Nyishi-inhabited areas of Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey and Kamle districts.

The members univocally echoed that the innocent people should not be victimised and deprived of the fruits of development, particularly, that of road connectivity for none of their fault.
