GUWAHATI: In order to fill up the gap and to attend various complaints in connection with conservancy related services, six flying squads have been constituted in six divisions with six daily wage labours in each to act as multi-purpose workers.
As per the order, GMC Joint Commissioner Siddhartha Goswami will be the overall in-charge of the flying squads. Six daily wage labours will be engaged by the division concerned as per the sanction and will be at their disposal to attend any emergent conservancy related duties/ complaints. Each division will divide its entire area into six, where the flying squad will visit one area from Monday to Saturday to carry out cleanliness drives. On Sunday, the flying squad will attend left-out public complaints.
Further, the six-seater vehicle required to carry the labourers along with accessories and the team leader will be placed at the disposal by the conservancy branch. The required brooms, mops, etc will be provided by the EE Conservancy. The Divisional Engineer concerned will lead the flying squad. They must visit all the vulnerable places and all conservancy related works must be properly documented.
