New Delhi: Indian Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat, on the occasion of visiting an event commemorating 20 years of Operation Vijay, expressed what he feels about another Kargil like infiltration by Pakistan. While speaking to the media, Rawat says that Pakistan will not date to create a Kargil like situation once again as the country has "seen the consequences" already.

The incident of infiltration that took place in Kargil in 1999 is still fresh in the memory of both the countries and the consequences of the attempt at infiltration were seen by Pakistan and the rest of the world. The Army chief also asserted that there is no scope for the neighbouring country to think of doing it again as the security force is keeping a tight watch in border areas.

General Rawat said, "There is no such area that we have left unguarded. Our surveillance team is keeping a tight watch and regularly patrolling the areas."

Rawat, while attending the event, was questioned by the reporters as to whether there is another chance of Kargil war. He further said, "We don't think Pakistan will attempt something like that (as during Kargil) because they have seen the consequences... I can clearly say, in coming days and years, Pakistan will not dare to attempt any infiltration."

The Operation Vijay commemoration event was held at the Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment. Further, the event witnessed the release of a special tribute video song which has been written by Bollywood lyricist Sameer. The song is made as a dedication to the Kargil heroes that feature some of the biggest Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal and some other film celebrities.

Addressing the media, the Army chief, stated the objective of the event. He said, "Today, we are here to celebrate 20 years of Kargil and Operation Vijay and the Northern Command, as well as the 14 Corps, has kick-started the celebrations to be held over the next few weeks."

In India, the conflict between India and Pakistan is termed as Operation Vijay in which the infiltrators from Pakistan were pushed back by the Indian soldiers.
