Rangia: With election round the corner, Kamrup and Rangia Election District administration under Mangaldai parliamentary constituency swung into action to enforce the model code of conduct.

The members of the MCC cell of both the districts removed altogether more than hundreds of posters, banners and hoardings in and around the districts. As per the direction of Kamrup and Rangia DEO, Kamal Kumar Baishya and Munindra Bardolay respectively, the administrative staff removed posters, banners, hoardings and writings on the walls belonging to different political parties from government buildings, properties and public places. A few hoardings were removed from posts having power supply cables.

Under the supervision of Kamalpur Revenue Circle Officer, Dr. Bedanga Talukdar and Rangia Revenue Circle Officer Emily Barua, the drive has been carried out by several teams constituted for the purpose in Rangia subdivision. The drive was carried out in Alipub, Khehenipara, Baihata Chariali, Salmara and Bezera areas of Kamalpur and different parts of Rangia from 10 am to 6 pm. Hundreds of posters and hoardings were removed and writings on the walls were erased from several places.

Kamal Kumar Baishya is the DC of Kamrup district and also the DEO of the district also. On the other hand, Munindra Bardolay is the Subdivisional Officer (Civil) and also in-charge Rangia DEO. Both the DEOs urged the public, staff and media persons to co-operate with the administration.
