PT Usha arrives in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, June 24: Legendary athlete PT Usha arrived in Guwahati with her athletes on Sunday for the forthcoming 58th National Inter State Athletics Championship. The competition will kick off on Tuesday at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium. Usha, who runs an athletic academy-Usha School of Athletics- already produced several top athletes of the country including Olympian Tintu Luka. Although several of her athletes will be seen in action in the forthcoming competition but Tinku will miss the Guwahati meet because of injury. Meanwhile Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the next edition of the 58th National Inter State Athletics Championship in the afternoon on Tuesday. A few key officials of the Athletic Federation of India are also expected to attend the inaugural function.
