Public Distribution System (PDS) Smart Card Awareness Meet Held At Roing

ROING: An awareness programme on the use of smart card through Electronic Point of Sale (E-POS), which has been introduced for the first time in the State, was organized by the Department of Food and Civil Supplies at Roing on Thursday.

The knowhow on use of the smart cards to draw public distribution system (PDS) items from fair price shop (FPS) was imparted to hundreds of ration card holders of Roing district in the programme.

SDO Kego Jilen advised the people not to disclose the pin code/password to others. The facility will be beneficial to all the consumers and bring transparency in the public distribution system, he added. The system of smart card has been introduced by the Food and Civil Supply Department in one selected FPS in every district as a pilot project.
