GUWAHATI: Railway Protection Force (RPF) of NF Railway rescued as many as 12 minor boys and girls from different stations/trains during the week from June 24 to 30, 2019 before the children could be lured by anti-social elements. During this period, RPF has successfully arrested seven personals who are involved in various types of crimes against railway passengers.

As per a press release, in one such case, on June 27, 2019, CPDS (Crime Prevention & Detection Squad) of CIB team of Katihar, during routine checking at Katihar Railway station, apprehended 5 persons involved in theft of passenger belongings by administering sedative drugs with recovery of sedative tablets (28 Ativan tablets 2 mg), cash Rs 2000 and one mobile phone stolen from the passengers from their possession.

RPF of Guwahati on June 30, 2019 conducted a drive against anti-social activities at concourse area of Guwahati railway station and apprehended one person with recovery of a bag, three money purses, one mobile phone with SIM, two PAN cards, one Voter ID, one SBI ID card, one ATM card and cash Rs 5070 stolen from the passengers.

On June 30, 2019, an RPF team at Mariyani station apprehended 1 person with recovery of 2 mobile phones which were stolen from the passengers.
