Roing DC Mitali Namchoom Holds Meet To Chalk Out Solid Waste Management And Bio-Medical Waste

ROING: Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom held a meeting to chalk out the Solid Waste Management (SWM) and Bio-medical Waste Management System (BMW) plans for the Lower Dibang Valley district at the DC’s Conference Hall on Roing on Tuesday.

Namchoom in the meeting stressed on the segregation of waste at source (household level) and correct disposal of waste. She also emphasized on the need to educate the public on the methods of segregation of waste through extensive IEC activities in the district. The meeting, chaired by the DC, was attended by ADC (Dambuk) Rujjum Rakshap, EE (UD) Taban Tabing, DMO R Tatan, heads of departments and officers.

Monsoon preparedness meet: A meeting was held to discuss the monsoon preparedness and the District Disaster Management Plan on Tuesday under the chairmanship of DC Mitali Namchoom and was attended by the HoDs and administrative officers. Namchoom requested the departments to prepare and provide comprehensive plans according to the responsibilities given to them. She also asked all to give up-to-date information to be included in the district plan. DDMO Tsering Ngurup explained about the District Disaster Management Plan, its composition and the duties and responsibilities of the entire department.
