Itanagar: The picturesque town of Jang in Tawang district with an approximate population of 25,000 and consisting 22 villages is all set to host Sadbhavana Diwas, being organized under the aegis of East Tawang Brigade of Blazing Sword Division on February 16 and 17.

The inhabitants of Jang have always shown affinity towards the Indian armed forces, a defence communiqué informed here on Monday.

The Sadbhavana Diwas is organized to create awareness amongst the youth regarding job opportunities in the Indian armed forces and enhance civil- military bonhomie. The event would be a joint civil-military exercise which would coincide with the 12th and 13th day of Losar festival of the Monpa tribe and is planned to be held as an annual affair each year from now onwards.

The event would be graced by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju besides various civil and military dignitaries.

The major events planned during Sadbhavana Diwas are performances by civil and military cultural troupes, folk dance, marathon, archery, symphony of military pipe and jazz concert, medical camp and civil and military information stalls.
