Scarlett Johansson Tops Forbes List of Highest Paid Female Actor in the World

American actress and singer Scarlett Johansson has become the highest-paid female actor in the world, according to Forbes magazine. Scarlett, 33, made USD 40.5 million in pre-tax earnings from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2018.

The Hollywood actress has made various appearances in the Forbes Celebrity 100. Johansson is an important celebrity brand endorser. Johansson is engaged in various charitable and philanthropic causes.

The guardian.com. reports that the 33-year-old actress made $ 40.5 million in pre-tax earnings from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2018, quadrupling her income from the previous year.

Worth mentioning, Scarlett Johansson has beaten actress Angelina Jolie, who ranked second with $28 million and actress Jennifer Aniston, who came in third with $19.5 million.

However, the total income of the actress is below last year’s male equivalent, Mark Wahlberg. Wahlberg earned $68 million in the 2017 list.

Johansson made her debut in adult roles in 2003 with her performance in 'Lost in Translation'. For the movie, she won BAFTA Award for Best Actress and Girl with a Pearl Earring. The actress was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards for these films. And she was also designated for playing an estranged teenager in the drama 'A Love Song for Bobby Long' (2004) and a seductress in the psychological thriller Match Point (2005).
