Seven ULFA-I cadres surrendered before Assam Police in Tinsukia

Tinsukia: A total of six cadres of rebel militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on Tuesday has surrendered before police in Tinsukia district ahead of the Lok Sabha Election 2019.

As per police report, the cadres were identified as Barun Asom, Sourav Asom, Utpal Asom, Bosonto Asom, Ninja Asom, Mazid Moran and Shekharjyoti Asom.

The cadres surrendered one AK-56 rifle, five rounds of live cartridges, three MQ along with 11 magazines, two HK-32 rifles (folding) along with eight magazines, 11 grenades and some amount of explosives before the newly transferred Tinsukia District Superintendent of Police Shiladitya Chetia.

Meanwhile, Assam police had beefed up strict vigil across the state and border areas to prevent any possible attempts by miscreants to create unrest in the state.

Furthermore, speaking to the media, SP Chetia considered the surrender of the cadres' as a big blow to the rebel militant outfit ULFA-I.
