KOKRAJHAR, Aug 11: Former Congress minister Siddique Ahmed on Thursday visited ABMSU president Lafiqul Islam’s Salakati residence and met the family members to express his shock over the incident and slammed BJP saying that the killing of the student leader was a transforming agenda of the ruling government. He was accompanied by assistant secretary of the APCC, Anurupa Honon. Siddique claimed that the killing of Lafiqul could be a political murder. He suspected that there could be ‘some’ political party’s involvement in the assassition of student leader and NDFB (ceasefire group) could have been used for this. He also said involvement of the Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police could not be ruled out in the assassition. He also said the State Government had instituted SIT to probe the incident but it was also doubtful that all angles would be looked into. He demanded that there should be CBI inquiry into the incident.
