SSB's 'Clean India- Healthy India' programme in Indo-Bhutan areas providing two modern toilet blocks

MANGALDAI: Giving a boost to the 'Clean India- Healthy India' (Swachha Bharat Swastha Bharat) campaign, the 37 Battalion of SSB based at Mangaldai dedicated two modern toilet blocks with running and drinking water facilities to the schools and villagers of bordering area along the foothills of Bhutan.

These toilet blocks, one at Chhaya Basti and the other at Bholatar near picturesque Samrang in Udalguri district, equipped with RO facility for drinking water with separate provisions for boys and girls have been constructed under the civic action programme in the north-eastern region. SSB has adopted nine schools in the bordering area and is doing its bit to improve the infrastructure of these schools.

Speaking on the occasion, Officiating Commandant of 37 Battalion, Rohitashwa expressed hope that with these facilities, not only the students of the schools concerned, but villagers living in adjoining area would also be benefitted. Deputy Commandant MD Tamang and a good numbers of students, villagers and prominent village elders took part in the inaugural function.
